The containment risks of the micro-powder (crushing) process handling for high-energy active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs) are mitigated through the highly integrated combination of equipment such as pulverizers, sieving, air jet pulverizers, etc., and isolation systems.
In a certain HAPI micro-powder project process, the materials to be processed: the bulk density of the active pharmaceutical ingredient is 0.3-1g/cm³, the feed size is 2-3mm, the target particle size: D90 = 5-100 μm, the material capacity: 500g/h. The above process was achieved through cone mills, twin screws, and air jet pulverization techniques.
